Can I make my STL adjustable without the CAD file?
Yes. Paramability works on the STL, OBJ or 3MF you already slice, so there is nothing to rebuild first and your CAD files stay with you.
Have a STEP file? That works too, and round holes stay perfectly round.
A plain triangle mesh of a box becomes the same box saved with a small form of choices beside it.
What can people change?
More than a hole or a length. Whole sections and parts can repeat, so one file can be a short tray or a long one with more compartments.
Size. Longer or shorter, with corners and holes kept in shape.
More sections. As it grows, whole sections are copied in instead of stretched.
How many. Repeat a part, or a whole set of parts, in a row, a grid or around a circle, and let people pick the count.
Fit. Magnet pockets, screw holes and press-fit inserts, looser or tighter.
Artwork. A choice of emblems, or none.
Slicer parts. A choice can switch on a support enforcer or a modifier part.

How does the person I send it to use it?
You send one file. They open it in their browser, pick their options and download their own version, ready to print.

- They see your model and your form, nothing else, pick their options and download a 3MF or STL.
No account and no CAD on their side. The file is the whole thing: there is no page to set up.

How do I set it up?
In the app, in three steps. The Table and the Graph are two views of the same setup: use whichever you like, and switch at any time.

Put the choices in order, add headings and pick a slider or a number box for each. The preview beside it is exactly what they will see.
3Share the file
Save the project as one .3mf file and send it.
What if I change my model later?
Open the new version with Replace with file and your choices stay. The holes, faces and decal spots you picked are found again on the new shape, and anything it cannot place is listed for you to pick again.
A lid joined to a box, with a picked hole and a star decal, is replaced by a second version with rounded corners. The joint point, the hole's fit and the decal come back on the new lid, and a summary lists them as in place or moved to the new surface.

- No. Paramability is made for a computer, for you and for the people you send the file to.
- What do they download?
- A 3MF with a plate for each version, or STL files. To edit the result in CAD, use the STL to STEP converter.
- Can they change anything besides my form?
- No. They see the model and your choices, and every value stays within your limits.
- Screw threads and heat-set inserts?
- Printed threads get their own clearance. STEP parts can also get new holes, with presets for heat-set inserts and screws.
