Drag to compare. The app on the left, the same build in the Blueprint drawing style on the right. A planetary gear holder, 17 parts in 14 steps, every step and camera move set on the timeline.

How do I make an assembly animation?

In four steps, on a timeline under your model. You don't need a video editor or any AI.

  1. Make groups

Press Make groups and the app puts the parts on your plate in a build order, base first. Change the order, the names or the timing as you like.

  2. Set the camera

Turn the model to a view you like and add it to the Camera row. The video glides from one saved view to the next.

  3. Number the steps

Add a step on the Steps row over the groups it should hold, then give it a title and a few tips. Steps are the numbers in your video and the pages of the printable instructions.

  4. Save the video

Pick a size and press Start.

The timeline. Each bar is a group of parts, and the coloured steps above number the build. Drag a bar to change when it plays.

How do the parts move in?

Each part travels to its spot in a straight line or along the curved path of the exploded view. You can also pick where it starts by dragging it in 3D.

On the way, a part can fade in, turn, or spin like a screw going in. The video can open on the model taken apart or on an empty plate.

A part can move again later, too. In the build above, the top cap turns over, takes the planet arms and turns back.

What kind of video do I get?

One shaped for where you post it: wide, square, portrait or tall for phones. Or framed exactly like your screen. Switch the look to a ready-made style and it is drawn on its own stage instead.

Quick, Better and Best set the quality. Better, the default, adds soft shadows. A GIF works too, scaled down so the file stays small.

Can it look like real assembly instructions?

Yes. Pick a style when you save and the build is redrawn like a page from a manual, with step numbers, arrows and a checklist of parts.

In your browser: Plain, Blueprint drawing and Neon, a glowing one for showing off, come straight from the Save video dialog. Nothing to install. Switch off Show arrows if you want to add your own marks later.

On your computer: save the build video kit and make six more styles yourself, like the other three clips below. The same steps make a printable PDF manual in each style; every clip has a link to one. No AI needed, only the free Node.js program. The kit shows you how.

With your AI assistant: it runs the kit for you and can tweak the styles.

Blueprint drawing. White outlines on blue, with the part you fit now in yellow. Made in your browser.PDF manual2.2 MB
Cutting mat. A green mat with a 1 cm grid, so sizes are easy to judge. The part to pick up is orange.PDF manual4.3 MB
Shadow board. Parts wait in a row like tools on a workshop board, and their spots empty as you build.PDF manual2.3 MB
Runner sheet. Clean white, like the sheet in a plastic model kit, with red tags on the tricky spots.PDF manual1.8 MB

What more can my AI assistant do?

Save a build video kit with the AI assistant files switched on, and hand it to the AI assistant you use, one that can work with files. Nothing above needs this.

It can make the six other styles, a printable manual and pictures for your listing, and set up Node.js for you. Then ask for changes like:

  • Turn the camera on step 3 so the nut stays in view.
  • Reword every step for a first time builder.
  • Cut a short vertical clip for Reels, timed to my music.
  • Design a style of my own, in my shop's colours.

A style it designs stays in your kit. After that you can make videos and PDF manuals in it yourself, without the assistant, and copy it into the kit of another model.

It can work in the app too: turn on AI assistant mode in Settings, and your assistant, if it works inside your browser, can lay out the steps, then show you pictures of them to approve.

What won't it do?

It makes clean build videos, but it isn't a video editor. Three things to know before you start.

  • No sound

Videos saved from the app are silent. Add music or a voice in a video editor.

  • One animation per plate

Each plate has its own build animation, saved with the project so you can come back and change it. A project with several plates holds one for each.

  • Browser styles have a size limit

Styles made in your browser take up to 150 parts and three minutes of video. Anything bigger goes through the kit.

Quick questions

Is it free? Do I need an account?
It's free, with no account and nothing to install. Open the app and drop your files in.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything runs in your browser. A kit only leaves your computer if you hand it to an AI assistant yourself.
Can I use it on my phone?
No, it's made for a computer. The videos it saves play fine on phones, though.
Which files can I open?
STL, 3MF, OBJ and STEP. You need at least two separate parts on the plate.
Does my model need joints?
No. Without them the app stacks the parts bottom up and drops each one in from above. If you've joined every part in the app, they fly in along the exploded view instead.
How long can the video be?
Up to ten minutes.

From a plate of parts to a video you can post.
